A  safari is one of those once in a lifetime activities that you should add to your bucket list. Seeing iconic lions, elephants, and other animals in the wild will take your breath away any time.

Typically a Kenyan safari costs around $300 per person per day. This includes park fees. Full Board accommodation, the safari vehicle, a professional guide and taxes.

If a private safari is out of your budget there are are other cheaper options such as shared group joining safaris and budget camping safaris which can be as low as $180 per person per day. The cost can be brought down further by reducing the number of says spent in the expensive parks.

1. The number of people in the group
2. The national parks they will visit 
3. The mode of transport used, air transport or road transport

The total cost for your safari is mostly dictated by how many days you choose to spend on safari. As a starting point, I’d recommend a 5 day Kenya safari itinerary and opt for a 7 – 10 day Kenya itinerary if your budget and diary permits.

Whilst not my first choice, a 3 day itinerary is also possible due to the high destiny of wildlife and short driving distance from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
