Planning for 2027? Use this published schedule as a budgeting reference. This review did not establish a separately confirmed 2027 tariff. Ask the PMK team to reconfirm the applicable fees for your travel dates before booking.
The reserve fee season starts on 1 January. Accommodation and PMK package seasons may use different dates, including 4 January for some package rate tables. Always check the dates in your selected package.
How much are Masai Mara park fees for a couple or family?
For two international adults, one chargeable park day costs USD 200 in January to June or USD 400 in July to December. Two chargeable park days therefore cost USD 400 or USD 800 respectively.
For two international adults and one child aged 9 to 17, one chargeable park day costs USD 250 in January to June or USD 450 in July to December. These examples cover visitor entry only. Accommodation, transport, vehicle charges and optional activities are separate costs unless included in your package.
A three day safari does not automatically mean three chargeable reserve days. Travel time, accommodation location, entry and departure arrangements determine the itinerary. Ask for the chargeable park days and planned game drives to be stated in your quote.

Understanding the 12 hour entry period
Narok County defines park entry for the period from 6 am to 6 pm, regardless of your arrival time. Do not treat a late afternoon entry as a ticket that automatically covers the following morning.
Before confirming your safari, ask how arrival day, departure day, any planned reentry and an airstrip transfer affect your charges. Your camp location and the section of the Mara you visit also matter. The PMK team will explain the planned arrangements rather than leave you to work out the ticket rules at the gate.
Vehicle entry fees and your safari vehicle
Vehicle charges are separate from visitor entry fees. The published schedule lists KES 1,000 for a vehicle with fewer than six seats, KES 1,500 for six to twelve seats, KES 3,500 for thirteen to twenty four seats and KES 4,500 for twenty five to forty four seats, per vehicle per day. These listed vehicle rates are not split into low and high seasons.
Choosing a safari minivan or Land Cruiser is also a budget decision. A minivan is the more affordable option and remains a capable safari vehicle. Tell us your priorities so we can recommend the right vehicle for your route. See PMK safari vehicles, interiors and features.
Kenyan citizens, East African residents and Narok residents
Kenyan citizens should carry a national ID or Kenyan passport. Eligible East African residents should bring the relevant residency documents. Nationality and residency are different classifications, so do not assume a visitor qualifies simply because they live or travel elsewhere in East Africa.
The county schedule also includes a separate Narok resident category and arrangements for organised student groups. If either applies to your party, ask us to verify eligibility, documents and the current charge before we prepare your quote.
Reserve fees, Mara Triangle and private conservancies
Specify where your safari will take place when comparing costs. Masai Mara National Reserve, the Mara Triangle and neighbouring private conservancies have their own management and booking arrangements. A conservancy stay should not be assumed to include entry into every part of the Mara.
Ask whether your quote includes reserve entry, any conservancy charges and all the locations where game drives are planned. Read our Masai Mara Reserve and Mara North Conservancy comparison if you are deciding between the experiences.
How to compare Masai Mara safari quotes
- Travel dates: check the applicable park fee and accommodation seasons.
- Chargeable park days: ask which days include reserve entry and game drives.
- Named accommodation: compare the actual camp, room category and meal plan.
- Private transport: confirm the vehicle type, pickup and return arrangements.
- Included charges: check visitor fees, vehicle charges and any conservancy fees.
- Optional experiences: request separate costs for balloon flights, village visits and other additions.
A lower headline price is only useful when it includes the experience you want. PMK helps you weigh the choices against your budget, interests and occasion, with the details in writing before you commit. For a broader breakdown, read our Kenya safari cost guide.

Sources and fee checks
We checked the Narok County Finance Act 2023, particularly the visitor and vehicle charges in its First Schedule, against published 2026 entry fee guidance. The county document is the primary source for the schedule; the linked travel guidance is a secondary cross check. Fees and operational arrangements can change, so we reconfirm them for your booking dates.

The published schedule charges international adults USD 100 per chargeable park day from 1 January to 30 June, and USD 200 from 1 July to 31 December. International children aged 9 to 17 pay USD 50, and children aged 8 and below enter free. Reconfirm fees for your dates before booking.
Are Masai Mara park fees for 2027 confirmed?
This review did not establish a separately confirmed 2027 tariff. Use the published schedule as a budgeting reference and ask the PMK team to reconfirm the applicable fees before you book.
How much do Kenyan citizens pay to enter Masai Mara?
The published schedule lists KES 1,500 per adult in January to June and KES 3,000 in July to December. Kenyan children aged 9 to 17 pay KES 300 or KES 500 respectively. Bring valid identification and proof of age where needed.
Does a three day Mara safari include three park entry days?
Not automatically. The number of chargeable park days depends on the route, accommodation and entry and departure arrangements. Your quote should state the included park days and game drives.
Are park fees included in PMK safari packages?
Check the inclusions on your selected package and personalised quote. The PMK team will explain the included park days, visitor and vehicle charges, and any optional experiences or exclusions before you book.
Do Masai Mara vehicle entry fees double in July?
The published county schedule does not split the listed vehicle entry charges into seasonal rates. Visitor entry fees have seasonal categories. Ask for the applicable vehicle charge to be confirmed in your quote.
Are conservancy fees the same as reserve entry fees?
Do not assume they are interchangeable. Ask which reserve or conservancy your game drives visit and whether each applicable charge is included in your itinerary.
