Serengeti Sopa Lodge occupies a hilltop position in the southwestern Serengeti, reached via a rocky access track that adds to the sense of arrival. The lodge is one of the park's larger properties, with two wings of rooms and suites built around a central lounge and dining area finished in the bright, colourful interiors typical of the Sopa brand, plus a spacious pool deck with its own pool bar.
The southwestern Serengeti forms part of the western corridor, a key route for migrating wildebeest and zebra as they move between the southern plains and the Grumeti River during the migration cycle. Outside migration season, the surrounding woodland and grassland support resident lion prides, giraffe, and plentiful plains game, making this a solid year-round base.
