Ashnil Mara is inside the reserve boundary, close to the Mara River. Being in the reserve rather than outside a gate means your morning drive starts where the animals already are, in the window when predators are still active, instead of after a queue at the barrier.
At thirty tents it is a larger camp than the boutique options nearby. That is a genuine trade-off: less intimacy, but more reliable service infrastructure, a proper kitchen brigade and easier availability at short notice in peak season.
The parent group runs all its camps on 100% solar with generator backup, has removed single-use plastic entirely, and employs over 350 people locally across five properties. If your clients ask about the environmental cost of a safari — and increasingly they do — this is a camp where the answer is specific rather than vague.

The Great Migration is the headline here, broadly July to October, with the river crossings within reach of camp.
Outside migration season the resident lion, leopard, cheetah and elephant of the Mara make this a year-round destination, and rates drop substantially.
