Enkakenya is on the banks of the Olare Orok, in a genuinely remote part of the Mara ecosystem. That stretch of river is known for unusually large Nile crocodile and resident hippo, so the soundtrack at night is not something the camp has to manufacture.
Tents are individually sited rather than lined up, each with its own balcony. Sitting on that balcony at first light while the plains wake up is the specific thing this camp sells, and it is a fair claim — the orientation of the tents is genuinely built around it.
The camp offers a star-bed sleep-out: a proper bed, out in the open, with the Mara's night noise around you. It is the single most requested add-on we see from couples, and very few camps in the ecosystem do it properly. Ask us to book it when you reserve rather than on arrival, because there is only so much capacity.
