Kirurumu Manyara Lodge sits directly on the rim of the Great Rift Valley escarpment above Lake Manyara, its 30 tented rooms and family suites spread across thirteen acres of natural bush and linked by winding stone pathways. Each tent stands on its own raised wooden deck, and the open-sided main lounge and bar are positioned to make the most of the same sweeping valley and lake views.
The park below is best known for its tree-climbing lions and its groundwater forest, fed by underground springs from the Rift wall, which supports elephant, hippo, and dense concentrations of baboon and blue monkey. The shallow soda lake itself attracts large flocks of flamingo along with pelican and other water birds, depending on seasonal water levels.
