Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp sits beside the Grumeti River in the northwestern Serengeti, with just twenty elevated tents raised on platforms among the surrounding rock outcrops. Each tent has a wraparound verandah looking out over the river, and the split-level main lounge and pool area are positioned to make the most of the same river views and the hippo pods that reside nearby.
The Grumeti River corridor is one of the routes the wildebeest migration follows on its way north, and hippo and crocodile are present in its pools throughout the year regardless of migration timing. The wider area also supports strong resident populations of elephant, giraffe, and predators, giving guests worthwhile game viewing even between the main migration seasons.
PMK often places Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp on itineraries that combine northern Serengeti river scenery with the chance of migration activity, and your guide will time game drives to the herds' latest reported positions. Walking safaris here are a good way to experience the riverine bush at a slower pace between drives.
