Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge is built high on a hill in the Serengeti's Seronera region, its cluster of stone-built, thatched rondavels arranged to give sweeping views over the plains below. Warm earth-toned interiors, Makonde wood carvings, and colourful fabrics reflect a distinctly East African design, and the elevated setting gives the lodge what many guests call a ringside seat over the surrounding grasslands.
This part of the Serengeti sits along the path of the Great Migration, and the lodge's hilltop position means the movement of wildebeest and zebra herds can sometimes be watched from the grounds themselves. Beyond the migration, the surrounding plains and woodland hold healthy resident populations of lion, cheetah, and elephant, along with the giraffe and antelope species that make the central Serengeti such consistent game-viewing country.
PMK can include a stay at Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge as part of a multi-night Serengeti circuit, with game drives arranged around sunrise and sunset when animal activity is highest. Ask your PMK guide about timing your visit to coincide with the migration passing through this area.
