Tarangire Treetops is built up in the branches of ancient baobab and marula trees on the park's boundary, with just twenty spacious elevated rooms — among the largest of any camp in the region — reached along raised walkways. The main lodge itself is built around a centuries-old baobab, and its poolside dining area and boma both look out over a waterhole that regularly draws wildlife within sight of the lodge.
Tarangire National Park holds one of the highest concentrations of elephant in Africa, with large herds gathering around the Tarangire River and its swamps, especially in the dry season when water elsewhere becomes scarce. The park's iconic baobab-studded landscape also supports lion, leopard, and over 550 recorded bird species, making it a rewarding stop between the more famous northern circuit parks.
PMK often builds a stay at Tarangire Treetops into the early or later stages of a northern circuit safari, when the park's elephant concentrations are typically at their most reliable. Your PMK guide can advise on the best months to combine Tarangire with the Serengeti and Ngorongoro for a well-paced overall route.
